Native of Detroit and eldest of 5, Ken quest to become an Actor was anything but straightforward. At age 12, his mother took him to see the film Fame and from there his desire to enter the Arts began.

A year later the family was transferred, because of his father's job, from Detroit to Poughkeepsie, New York. Not familiar with the distance between Poughkeepsie and New York City and High School only being 2 short years away, Ken began his plea to petition his parents to send him to the School of the Performing Arts in New York City and where the film Fame was centered around. After a year, his father gave him the heartbreaking news, "I'm not (we're not) sending our kid to the City to go to school, so stop asking!"

Disappointed but not dismayed, Ken continued to relish at any and every moment to visit the vibrant city and byed his time to one day, officially enter the world of the Arts without needing parental permission.
